Many women have taken advantage of this optional opportunity to
live with the community for an extended period of time, while remaining financially independent and either continuing their current employment or volunteering in community ministry. Acceptance to the Live-In Program requires application, letters of reference and a behavioral assessment test.  Contact our Director of Vocation Ministry at vocations@osbva.org for more details.

Meet our newest "Live-ins":

Shirley Arce comes to us from California.  She recently retired from the LA public school system.  She will be using her many gifts internally in the monastery.

Joanna Burley hails from Florida via Raleigh, NC where she was teaching Theology at Cardinal Gibbons High School

Rosa is a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in nearby Manassas and got to know us through one of our sisters who attends Mass on Saturday mornings.

These three will live with us, inside the monastery, for up to one year as they continue to discern God's call.  They are free to come and go, to share in our prayer and common life until we mutually discern the next step.  Every serious candidate is encouraged to experience the "Live-In" program if possible.  Those who can find it an indispensable tool for determining whether this way - our way- is also their way to God. We are so happy that Shirley, Joanna, and Rosa found their way to Bristow.  Please keep them in your prayers
